I have 35 years experience as a manager in the auto industry. With both a BS and an MA in Management, I have the education and training to bolster my experience.

The County Budget is in the red. As a manager in the auto industry, I was constantly challenged, seeking, and achieving the best ways to reduce costs and expenses without cutting quality or service. I have combined management jobs before, and have had my management job combined before. I have more experience in reducing costs in more trying times than any other candidate.

The Register of Deeds provides vital services. There may be efficiencies that could be of assistance, but the immediate major cost reduction must be the combination of the Register of Deeds with that of the Clerk. This would eliminate the cost of an Administrator, or in excess of $100,000 per year, including benefits. Alternatively, both the Register and the Clerk could be made part time jobs at dramatically reduced salary and benefit levels. The Register of Deeds and the Clerk are also grossly overpaid for their responsibilities, compared to a private business. Neither the Clerk, the Register, nor a combined job, should be paid more than $60,000, which would be a reduction of an additional $22,000. As part of my commitment to reduce overpaid administrator paychecks, I will donate 25% of my net paycheck to local charities, each and every paycheck, until this job is eliminated or made part-time.
