HurleyFest
Hurley Medical Center’s 100th Anniversary Celebration: Stop by and meet representatives of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce at HurleyFest, a festival honoring the medical facilities' 100 years of healing and touching lives.
Live entertainment, interactive exhibits, dancing, giveaways, refreshments and children's activities are included in the festivities.

2nd Friday ArtWalk - Exhibit sponsored by the Regional Chamber
You’re invited…to join the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce on Friday, August 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Greater Flint Arts Council ArtWalk. The Regional Chamber is sponsoring an exhibit of our member’s art work on the first floor of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s new office building on the corner of First and Saginaw Streets. It is free to the public, and there will be hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments.
The ArtWalk is a series of free exhibits and entertainment in various locations in downtown Flint, including the Greater Flint Arts Council. This event is an opportunity to experience some great art, listen to music and see the new developments going on in downtown Flint. Bottom line: It is a fun way to spend a Friday evening!
If you would like to display a piece of your art work (either of your creation or piece you have purchased) please send a photo of it to: grccevents@thegrcc.org. Pieces should be no larger the 18x24 and should be of acceptable content. Deadline for consideration: July 29, 2008
Items will be hung by their owners beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8 and need to be removed at 9:00 p.m. the same evening. During the exhibit time there will be music and free finger foods.
Even if you don’t exhibit, come down for the Art Walk and take a look at all the new construction in downtown Flint. It’s a great way to spend a Friday evening.

Great Start Collaborative Genesee Breakfast: Economic Development with High Public Return—Early Childhood Investment
Priority Children, the Genesee Intermediate School District and the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Great Start Collaborative Genesee breakfast on Tuesday, August 12th, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., at the Sarvis Conference Center in Flint Cultural Center. The breakfast focuses on Economic Development with a High Public Return: Early Childhood Investment, and provides an opportunity for the business community and educators to discuss the role of high-quality early childhood education in student success and employability. The event is free, but space is limited.
Guest speaker is Rob Grunewald, Associate Economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and co-author of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve’s Beige Book report on current economic conditions. Mr. Grunewald will address community leaders regarding the direct financial impact educational investment has on their business.

Back to the Bricks Cruise Weekend
The Regional Chamber will host a ‘50s-themed hospitality tent on Friday, August 15 from 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., and Saturday, August 16 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Stop by and enjoy our music and available refreshments.

Summer Wine Down
Each year in honor of summer's end, the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts the Summer Wine Down at the University Pavilion Rink in downtown Flint. This is a wine tasting and food pairing event which includes lively entertainment, great food and networking opportunities. Benefits go to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint.
